Hello everyone,
I hope that you have had a good day full of fun festivities! Today was day 10 of Ticmas, so I decided to make a video all about why Tourette’s syndrome can make taking exams extremely difficult.
There is currently a petition that Tourette’s action have been promoting that is arguing that people with Tourette’s should not have to take physical exams and so should be assessed on 100% coursework instead. This petition is being made to give to the department of education.
In my opinion it is something that needs to change as soon as possible, as I know from experience just how hard and unfair exams can be as it never reflects my true capabilities because I spend the whole time suppressing unwanted tics which makes it impossible to keep my train of thought at the same time!
In the video I put the rest of my family to the test by giving them an easy 10 question test whilst giving them tic commands to do to show them what people with Tourette’s go through when taking an exam. Please go and sign the petition as it is something very important that needs to be addressed.
Merry Christmas and Ticmas, Wilamena 🙂 Xx
