Today I had a day filled with lots of medical things. It started with a checkup with my paediatrician. We had a good appointment today and we talked about medicines. Because I have been on two different medicines before, Clonidine and Aripiprazole I have to decide whether to look into a different one for me to try, if I think that I need it. So that is something for me to think about. I know from experience that they can be really useful at times but do have downsides sometimes.
If you want to now more about the other medicines then check out ‘my story’โpage.
We also talked about school and how sometimes I struggle with lessons, especially French. I don’t struggle in French because I don’t like it but because there are some people in that class that stress me out. My doctor suggested that I should try giving myself time beforehand to tic and then maybe half way through the lesson to go out of the classroom for 10 mins to give my self time to relax and tic.
I am going to try that when I go back to school after the summer holiday in September. You guys might want to try that and see if it works for you.
Then we had lunch out for a treat before going to the dentists to have one of my teeth taken out ๐ . I have hypoplastic teeth that means some of them have little or no enamel. So now I have one less tooth and it hurts quite a lot but thank goodness for paracetamol! But it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was.
Now that I can’t really eat anything properly for the minute I made myself a banana smoothie and this is what I needed to make it:
1 banana
1/2 a cup of yogurt
1/2 a cup of milk
1 teaspoon or cinnamon (optional)
1 1/2 tablespoons of honey
1/2 a tablespoon of peanut butter (optional)
And then just blend it all together and youโre done! ๐ Xx
